Powerade Player of the Round

An all round effort by Port Adelaide’s Abraham Hill and a highest batting score by Kensington’s Tiff Thackeray has resulted in both players being selected as the 'Powerade Junior Cricketer of the Round' for round two and round three respectively.

Winning the toss in their Under 16 White match, Abraham came to the crease when his team were in trouble against Glenelg at 2/9. Abraham then top scored with the bat and added 58 runs to guide his team to 141 runs. In reply, Abraham opened the bowling and dismissed five of the top six batters, and eventually closed the Seahorses innings by taking the final wicket. Abraham took 6/19 from 16.5 overs (including 1 maiden) and restricted Glenelg to 107. In the Magpies second innings, Abraham completed his third outstanding performance in the game, again top scoring with 48 runs in his team’s final total of 6/93.

Abraham played Under 16 White last season, top scoring with 31 runs against Kensington in round 10, and represented the Magpies in the Under 14 competition in season 2007/08.
