Junior cricket teams > Cricket playing grounds | Fixtures & results

We are very proud of our junior cricket players and there are plenty of
opportunities for boys and girls to get involved at the Port Adelaide Cricket Club.

Port Adelaide CC is one of 12 SACA Grade clubs fielding junior boys’ teams, while our girls’ side compete against many others. The junior sides play in the following SACA competitions as a pathway to under-age state selection:

BOYS:

Under-16 Red, Under-16 White, Under-14 Red, Under-14 White

We also offer further junior boys’ development as follows: 
• Primary school age - Ray Sutton Shield
• Under-17 - Bank SA Under-17 Shield
• Young Magpies development squad for boys around 10 to 12 years old

GIRLS:

Scorpion Shield
Scorpion Shield cricket is for girls aged between 7 and 12 who are not playing other cricket. It is a pathway to senior cricket, with players moving up to C grade when they are ready. Matches are played on Sunday mornings and there are no fees, while all equipment is supplied. Players also receive a shirt and a cap.

BOYS AND GIRLS:

FREEMAN-ROLTON ACADEMY – sponsored by Sprint Auto Parts

The Port Adelaide Cricket Club launched the Freeman Rolton Academy for season 2009/10. Named after former Test and State player Eric Freeman & current PACC and former Australian player Karen Rolton.

FREEMAN SQUAD  
Program Outline:

The Freeman Squad involves 8 training sessions during the season involving all the skills of the game in a game based format to encourage players to think about their own game with elements of leadership & captaincy covered.

The players selected for the Freeman Squad will be managed by the Junior Coordinator & Cricket Development Officer of the Port Adelaide Cricket Club along with representatives from community clubs within our metropolitan zone.

To be selected for the Academy, a player will show cricket ability and have a good attitude towards training & learning. The PACC will liaise with the community clubs in the Port Adelaide zone to select the best candidates for the Academy.

ROLTON SQUAD
Program Outline:

The Rolton Academy provides girls aged between 10 & 16 the opportunity to be involved in a fun and interactive 8 week game based cricket program to make the transition into the game as easy as possible through being integrated with PACC players and improving skill development.

The Program will includes come and try days to introduce new participates into the game of cricket followed by 6 sessions leading into club training for girls who wish to play for PACC.

The Rolton Squad members will consist of junior girls from PACC and additional girls that are recruited from within our zone.   Players in the Rolton squad will range from 10 to 16 years of age.  This Squad will include any girls who wish to try out the sport of cricket & potential new players for our cricket club. The players selected for the Rolton Squad will be managed by the Junior Coordinator, Cricket Development Officer & PACC Women Squad Manager.
